WACO, Texas, Sept. 19, 2024 — Emerging country artist, Garret Butler, is releasing his first EP
“Imposter” on Sept. 25, at 12 a.m. CST.
In “Imposter,” Butler explores relatable themes drawn from his personal experiences.
Throughout his life, Butler has struggled with imposter syndrome, but his goal is to transform
this challenge into a positive outlet, allowing listeners to connect and find solace.
“One of the songs on the EP, ‘Fake It,’ is what I used to tell myself in the mirror every morning,”
Butler said. “I want listeners to know they can be themselves and love the people around them.”
One of the deeper themes covered in “Imposter” is connected to Butler’s friend who tragically
took his life in high school. The song “Wish” acts as an apology letter to this friend who was one
of Butler’s biggest supporters in his music journey.
“I was sitting at my desk one night, and I saw my friend’s aunt pop up on my Facebook. I always
wanted to write a song for him, and I asked his aunt if she’d be okay if I did. She was totally
okay with it,” Butler said.
“Imposter” will consist of four tracks, and will be available for streaming on major platforms
including Spotify, Apple Music, and more. Individuals who have struggled with experiences
similar to Butler’s are encouraged to listen and find comfort in knowing they are not alone.
